Description:

Japanese artist Nana Marchan, who is 82 years old, has created a doll game that appeals to both the elderly and those interested in traditional Japanese culture. This game revolves around the custom of decorating a step-altar called "Hinadan" on Hinamatsuri, also known as Girls' Day, a significant celebration in Japan. The Hinadan is adorned with Emperor and Empress dolls, as well as court nobles from the Heian period (A.D. 794-1185).
Hinamatsuri is observed annually on March 3rd and has historical roots. In the past, Hina Dolls were used as substitutes for young children suffering from illnesses. As doll-making techniques improved during the Edo period, regional lords and wealthy merchants started commissioning lavish Hinadan dolls as special wedding gifts for their daughters.
Today, it is customary for many Japanese parents and grandparents to present their daughters and granddaughters with Hina Dolls on their first HinaMatsuri, symbolizing their wishes for happiness and good health.
Instructions on how to play the game can be found on the first page of the Hinadan. To begin playing, simply select a doll and tap the bottom of the screen. The name of the doll will appear, and your task is to correctly place it on the step-altar according to the rules. Upon successfully positioning a doll in the correct spot, you will hear the traditional sound of a Japanese drum called "Pong," indicating your success. If you choose an incorrect placement, a disapproving "Boo" sound will be heard, and the seat will not adjust to accommodate the doll. Keep trying until you find the right spot for each doll.
Once all the dolls have been placed on the Hinadan, you will advance to the final page. Completing the doll arrangement successfully will be a cause for celebration, and everyone can admire the finished display. Enjoy the Hinadan Dolls game, accompanied by the beautiful voice narration of a Japanese actress.
